Thanks for your obviously considerable efforts in transporting the Facebook conversation here. I've offered a response which I hope is commensurate with those efforts, though most of it is intuitively obvious to us here.
Like you'd never guess but my be spectacled geek and I have the stamina of a stampeding rhinoceros. = You are describing me too. Built my first computer from chips and motherboard. Gotten into lots of trouble in life. It's all good. No regrets.
"♥Buggery and Hellfire!♥" (just for the sake of saying it)
"I'm a slave to naturalism requiring "evidence" for stuff." I'm actually a slave to oxygen, and food, and visible light, and..... not that there's anything wrong with it.
Yup making a reappearance - a resurrection, you might say! = Thank Jesus! Oh, maybe not. But it's wonderful you are here.
I have been busy with work, and getting laid quite regularly (!!) Thank Jesus! Oh, not there either! Getting laid regularly should be in the Humanist principles. It's definitely one of the best things in life. Right up there with Pad Thai.
The hunt for a more stable long term boyfriend = Sasquatch is saving him for you. Find Sasquatch and the boyfriend will come next. Or, if you are into bear types, Sasquatch might be Mister Right.
Taking time out to have multiple car crashes (long story) = not a recommended activity. Really, get laid more, but have car crashes less.
Am hoping to go down to Dorset later this year for a photography holiday by the beach with the cliffs. = sounds like fun. Bring a date. I read that one of the cliffs had a big collapse. Be careful when peering over the edge, or when walking below them
Have spent a majority time, as you can probably tell from my latest but one blog, debating the faithful on Facebook. Which is a thankless task. = ♥Thank you very much!♥
Some I've come home to more rational place to be amongst friends. = Welcome!
Arrggh. Now I need to be disciplined and get back to my homework. Damn.
Richard, Very happy to see you commenting. I love that you are here. A productive life, earning a living, doubtless are diverting you, but those are good things. And I hope that you are enjoying life, learning more of what you like and what makes life good. But Im also very happy to see you commenting here.
My "situation" was in Montreal for the weekend, so I went to my island home to visit my parents. The only glorious moment I had was Sunday morning when I was loading up the Jeep to go to the beach, and my mother came out and decided to skip church and go with me. Win! That, and my father gave me a kickass old shotgun to hunt hogs with. I live in Texas. Yeehaw.
Your date sounds very nice. It's cute that you mentioned that you like kissing boys. I'm pleased that you had an hour and a half for that part of the date. Kissing for that long is something that I enjoy when I am into it. And I usually am...
My situation is going great. We are about to meet for brunch at a cute downtown local venue. Haven't made the progress you made last night, but it is on the way.
Your 3rd date IS going to be killer. How exciting! Enjoy.
Tho' I can say Hitch follows me on Twitter. But I don't tweet very much and neither does he.
But it's been useful since his illness as it's meant I've been able to send a couple of private messages to him. One representing the good wishes of the London Atheist's Meetup group, to which I belong and another commenting on something else.
I want to send another soon as I saw an interview with him recently saying he feels that, in his experience, if someone wants to write to a person in the public eye, they should just do it. He has been heartened by the communictions from others and believes it's useful and democratic in spirit, so to speak, to do it.
Heck, I don't want him to go. And I have a bad feeling about his recent voice loss.
The Sam Harris one I went to was the same one you were at and I could have flashed a picture of me getting my book signed and exchanging a couple of words with Sam if my friend's camera hadn't failed him!!
The Hitch/Widdi debate was brought up on the Meetup message board and me and another guy went. We were surprised at the lack of enthusiasm from others. But now they all wished they'd gone and have watched it often more than once on YouTube. Ya boo! We went!! (when am I gonna grow up??)
Still, we're not worshippers on here and I don't go too far down the 'fan' line. Let's just say I can be impressed! And I didn't know I was having my picture taken!
