They look similar yes, but the painting is different. I'll have to take a photo of them sometime- my 4 year old absolutely loves them. And I find foreign currency interesting whether it's colorful or not :P lol, but yes, it is colorful. Our money has actually been changing lately and a lot of older people claim it looks like monopoly money.. occasionally I worry that if I ever time travel into the past I wont' be able to buy anything because the money is no longer the same :P
they eat roo over there don't they? I've seen several groups protesting it (oddly usually the same people who eat cows, pigs, and chickens over here). My brother sent me a few photos of kangaroos, but he's not the best photo taker.
Cause they look pretty cool :) Many parts of Australia have very few indigenous people (aborigines), and most of the stuff the tourists see is probably atypical, though my parents do get kangaroos (practically) in their backyard (their property adjoins a nature reserve) :D
Regarding the $$, I'm guessing you think it's funny how colorful it is - I have heard from other Americans who compare Euros and AUD to Monopoly Money since they're used to plain ol' greenbacks :)
Next time you go on a trip to somewhere new, why don't you ask around the Nexus to see if you can get some freethinking locals to show you around? I know I'm going to do that when I get around to travelling - might even be able to cut costs a lot that way (tourists often get ripped off lol) :P
thanks for the friend Add :-) my brother just came back from Australia two days ago! He brought me back aboriginal stick things.. not sure what they're called.. they're just noise makers. I also got a magnet and some money ^_ ^
Hello, So far I like the website very much. Up until now I spent most of my time on Minekey and Facebook. This place is refreshing actually talking about topics other than having every single one become about the existence of god.
The best thing about being a teacher is that I get to be involved but I don't have to take the kids home at the end of the day!
Anyways thanks for the welcome and I'm sure I'll see you around.
I go back as far as Jon Pertwee episodes and I have seen very little before that though I read a few of the novelisations in my teens. There were a couple of cross over episodes where Patrick Troughton's doctor was used with later doctors so I have seen some of him in those. Like you I have become increasingly intolerant of advertising. We have Foxtel IQ at home which stores the stuff I tell it to record on a hard-drive like tivo so I fast forward through ads and yeah I like to let a series build up so I can watch a bunch all together if I want to. I'm the same with books now too, waiting to read a trilogy til all are released. :-)
Hello to Gliktch in Brisbane, and welcome to Atheist Nexus. We are pleased to welcome you here among the sensible, rational people of this world who, like you, recognise religion for the superstition and fraud that it is --- and that God and gods are nothing but fictions inside people's heads.
