Hey dude, Good to have you as a friend on this fantasmatic international site of rationalists and free thinkers. I too come from a very religious Muslim family and I too love science to bits. :-)
It is interesting to hear Mohamed Zaki say that he hasn't met any ex-Muslims in person. I live in Britain and have also never met any ex-Muslims. You're right, if I lived in a Muslim country, I would be very nervous about agreeing to meet an ex-Muslim unless I felt I trusted them. But, hey! thanks to the internet we can anonymously form a network of apostates to spread good ideas and counter bad ones. It keeps our morale up!
Btw, the forum http://www.councilofexmuslims.com/ is great too if you have the time and internet minutes.
Take care Mustafa and Mohamed Zaki. :-)
I do not know any atheist in person either, i think its not safe because of the way people here "function" one day they are atheists as they might think its just cool the next day they are Muslim fundamentalists with beards and shit.
But its really irritating not being your self all the time, although of course i got used to it.
