The feeling is mutual kristi!! it's so good to find like minded people here. If you wanna be good debater(which i think is necessary requirement if you declare yourself atheist) you should check out the-atheist-experience tv show, all they do is debate, and these guys are wonderful.
I thought the same when I started. I was very cautious. I studied strategy before I played my first hand. I wanted to see if it was possible to win. I started very small and went from there. I've always liked games, and it turned out poker was just another game I could win at.
I would love to hear you "Deconversion" story. I don't know any atheists personally...only online. It makes functioning day to day a bit lonely, which is why I'm so happy to have found AN, like you... It would be great if someone created a physical organization for Atheists so that we can develop a loving community. We could have a charter or building of some kind in every major city. It would make life richer I think
