Hey Daniel. Left you a note on your wordpress site. More people need to connect to our stories of life after faith. Education is the key. I prefer Freethinker to Atheist, but it's about finding a natural peace and path. See you at http://afterfaith.wordpress.com.

Hi Dan, thanks for the add. I hope being an unbeliever will be liberating and and will bring you some relief, as it has for me.

Well, in fairness, "raised atheist" is a bit of a contradiction in terms. My father considers himself a strong atheist and my mother is an atheist-leaning agnostic.

The entire concept of faith in my youth only came up when I started showing interest in learning what everyone was else going on about. Santa, the easter bunny, tooth fairy, god/jesus (etc) were never part of my upbringing.

Thank you for the invite!

Coincidentally, I've stopped by your blog from time to time in the past, before I had one of my own. Being more or less raised atheist I find it interesting to learn about those that came to atheism from faith.

Thanks for the invitation, Daniel. Nice website.

Joan and I are out in San Francisco for a few days; talk about fresh air! But we have a pretty active atheist meetup in Cincinnati, that meets at a place that's a comfortable walk from our house, and most of our friends now are atheists, and our kids have married atheists (one a third generation atheist). So it probably looks more hopeful to me than it really is.

Valdosta must be tough.

With regard,

Great website! It's a pleasure to meet, if only virtually, those who share a common history with myself. It's a continual comfort to know I'm not alone in my walk away from faith. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Dan, welcome to the other side, the side where sanity rules over fantasy and wishful thinking.

I look forward to getting to know you.

I hope you've found Richard Dawkin's BBC videos "The God Delusion" Some googling may turn them up, but here's some stuff for you to look at in the mean time.
