One of the problems I often encounter when debating religious folks is that there isn't a free resource that covers most of their arguments in simple language. To address this, here is a site that covers 100 topics that teens should know:
Just watched your ABC Nightline video: The Atheist and her Brain. Very interesting. Was so happy to see you registered. Thank you for doing that bit and taking many people by surprise with your professional manner and insight.
Thanks Margaret! Despite a cyber-attack on the Convention website this week, sales are going really well - and the extra publicity didn't hurt either! Let us know if you end up in south-east Queensland when you're in Oz - I can probably arrange a speaking engagement for you at Embiggen Books. Their last speaker was Professor Ian Frazer, the scientist who developed the Gardasil vaccine. In any case - if you're in the Brisbane area, let me know and we can catch up. Cheers, Kris
Hi Margaret! As well as hosting the Aussie/Kiwi group here on Nexus. I'm also the media and communications consultant for the forthcoming "Rise of Atheism" Global Atheist Convention to be held in Melbourne in March 2010. The Convention is being organized jointly by Atheist Alliance International and the Atheist Foundation of Australia.
I know that you have a wide contact network, and we'd be most grateful if you could let your atheist friends and colleagues know that tickets for the convention are now available online at the Convention website. We are expecting nearly 3,000 delegates, so this convention is going to be huge.
Confirmed speakers include: Richard Dawkins, AC Grayling, PZ Myers, Dan Barker, Peter Singer, Taslima Nasrin and many more.
Anything you can do to help us get the word out would be greatly appreciated.
