Whoops. Peking to Paris rather than Beijjing to Paris.
I'm glad to see the Paris to Dakar race changed to Argentina and that there is still a race from Beijing to Paris. For those of us who aren't interested in stadium races.
How do you think Bernie Eccelstone ruined F1 racing?
One of the things thats emerging is Electric car and bike racing..
I'm not a fan of anything.
The interesting thing about F1, F2, F3, SCCA, go carts hill climbs, and etecetra are interssting.
Unfortunately Paris to Dakar , because of the political conficts was closed. I'm glad to see the race continued in Argentina.
The European circit is interesting with ice racing and ralleys.
I guess what I'm saying is I don't like stadium racing.
Indy and rondy pounders to me is boaring.
I watched enough of Monaco to remind me why I haven't liked Formula One for a while. As for ownership, Bernie Eccelstone used to be the effective "owner" of F1 for decades, and IMHO, he ruined it. With IndyCar, there is NOT one over-dominating owner, but there IS at least a LOT of competition (and passing!), and I very much enjoy watching them do both the ovals and the road courses (it ain't all "roundy pounders," Chris!).And don't get me started about football. I have to live with the Browns! [groan!]
I watched the Monico Grand Prix today.
Some say the F1 race francise is owned by one guy. It seems that roundy pounders are also a franchise owned by one corporation.
I often wonder why cities vote to pay their tax dollars to build a stadium for a football franchise team. They have no allegiance to thir 'home' city
The only football team I have respect for is the Green Bay packers because it's owned by the municipality. Is that still the case?
Just made me sad, Joan. Yesterday was Danica Patrick's last race, and I SO wanted to see her at least finish and (maybe, just maybe) win it all. She's always been fast at the Brickyard, and that she came back and qualified as fast as she did told me that IndyCar was her proper milieu and not NASCAR ... but Her GoDaddy Chevy swapped ends coming out of Turn Two around Lap 68, and that was all she wrote.I just loved to watch her race, and it's worthy of note: she is the ONLY WOMAN ever to LEAD the Indianapolis 500. I'm gonna miss her.
Loren, say more!
