Have to say, NOFS has had some great meets and fundraisers, but this was was genuinely terrific, in no small part because of our special guest, Seth Andrews. And Joan, no, I didn't record our conversation on the drive from Hopkins, but I DID record his talk this afternoon. I will release that video sometime in the near future.
Loren, you were able to share time and place with Seth?! Surely you recorded your conversation! Well, maybe not, but tell us about talking with him, please! I suspect he listened to what you had to say and incorporated some of your ideas into his. Two genius thinkers together in time and place; life does not get better than that!
Comfort can come from quiet meditation. While in cancer treatment, my fears and pain eased as I sat in meditation expressing gratitude for my family, the doctors, nurses, technicians, housekeepers, and janitors, who cared for me as I puked on their shoes, cried on their shoulders, and needed help quickly because I was incontinent. All my sphincters quit working, including my tear ducts.
Their calm efficiency, quick wit, and gentle care made that phase of my life more tolerable.
When my son died, I remembered his unique qualities and his outstanding care for me during that time and during recovery.
I am too privileged to be stressed!
Actually, it was this guy:He's the guest speaker at the Northern Ohio Freethought Society fundraiser this afternoon. Y'all come!
Joan, I wasn't the VIP!
Some guy who says, "Challenge the opposition ... and start THINKING." Sound familiar? [grin!]
Loren, who did you pick up at the airport?
