This made me sick to my stomach and raised my blood pressure. Yeah i didn't think that was right w/ the 6% of Americans are Atheist. What I thought was comical was the pastor's wife "I don't know what an Atheistis, i know they don't worship the same God as me." Uneducated blind follower, christians (well mostly all religious people) just believe what there parents told 'em. Reminds me of "The Water Boy" in science class, "but but momma said." They just believe cause they were told to and there scared of going to hell because they have lived such unmoral life's. I know just a hand-full of Atheist and they have great moral character, but for the hundreds of christians I know they go to the club friday and saturday, fuck whomever whenever,do drugs and drink, then go to church to be "forgiven", then here comes monday and it's back to the same. I hope my son doesn't have to go through what this girl went through (yeah right i live in TN) but if he does I know he'll do the same and stand-up for what he believes in.

I agree it is sad, but what really gets my goat is that this is a clear first amendment violation of separation of church and state. Funny if this had occurred in the 9th district it would been viewed as a violation, similarly to the pledge of allegiance case that was decided on a few years back.

all i can say is sad, sad, sad. that is exactly what scares the hell out of me about my kids in school. we have to stand up and say, we are atheists, we do not believe. if we don't why do you care.
