There is a book called "A gift for Muslim couple" which is basically an Islamic guide to a happy marriage. Peacefullness and a happy marriage, hmm,
'Pull her by the ear'
'beat her by hand or stick'
'It might be necessasry to restrain her.'
Page 45 contains the rights of the husband, which include his wifes inability to leave "His house without his permission," and that his wife must "fulfill his desires" and "not allow herself to be untidy... but should beautify herself for him..."
What the Qur'an says about Surat An-Nisa (the Woman)
" Men are in charge of woman by right of what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend for maintenance from their wealth. So righteous woman are devoutly obedient, guarding in the husband's absence what Allah would have them guard. But those wives from whome you fear arrogance - first advise them; then if they persist, forsake them in bed; and finally, strike them. But if they obey you once more, seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand."
Because this is what a happy marriage consist of, beating threatening and forcing your wife to do whatever you say because she is your wife.
