A video I made for my Speech & Debate class. We assigned a word and we were supposed to make an inspirational video off of it.

One of the quotes of this video gave me some pause, to wit:People who are brutally honest get more satisfaction out of the brutality than out of the honesty.-- Richard J. NeedhamTo which I say, maybe so ... but sometimes honesty is itself brutal without any help. Any event which shakes us out of our tendency to be along for the ride will do this, whether it's as radical and tragic as 9/11 or as simple as a notice that a bill is overdue. In either case, we can either face what is going on or we can go hide, procrastinate, pretend that it didn't happen. There are a lot of theists out there who want to accuse us of being undiplomatic or angry or just plain wrong when we deny the existence of their god. Are some of us being purposefully brutal when we encounter believers? I would say, pretty likely ... but I also have to ask, who's got the goods and who doesn't?I feel a blog coming out of this, so I'll stop here ... but there is a lot more to say about this business.
