My only problem with baiting a believer into trying to prove there is a god is that it's not entirely convincing. Neither Randi (an old carnival showman) nor anyone else can prove that god does not exist. Therefore, as we say down here on the border, it was a "Mexican standoff." Yes, I know, it is a vaguely racist expression, but it was not so intended: it simply means that in some games there are winners; in some, losers. And in some games, it's a draw. Mind you, I am not advocating that you say ten Hail Mary's just in case: those who call themselves "agnostic" are sometimes just hedging their bets, but I think it is as wise a position as any: there really might actually be a god. But in the meantime, I will refrain from worshiping him just as I refrain from worshiping the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy.
