good question Loren. perhaps. there is an Alaskan man suing (the US gov't, i suppose) over Obama as President, claiming that the 14th Ammendment was falsely ratified and that Obama's color disqualifies him to be president.
this is a LAWMAKER quoting scripture to support policy. it's one thing to get inspiration from your religious beliefs, but to cite specific Biblical text as the reason for enacting, voting for, or against a Bill or Law is should be illegal. it is likely unconstitutional. the Muslim test, always useful, comes in quite handy here. if a Muslim representative quoted scripture from the Koran these same Conservatives would trip over themselves to get the person thrown out of office.
What is most disturbing about all of this is thatNo One in the GOP Seems To Disagree With These Positions!!!
Has the GOP suddenly decided it wants to be the party of the 19th century instead of the 21st? Such policy statements sure sound like it, and that no alternative or dissenting voices are being heard is disturbing news to me. What is scarier is that republican voters don't appear to be disagreeing with these potential planks in the party platform either.
I have to ask: is all of this extremism purely because there is a black man in the White House?
