Well said, from the not painting with a foolishly wide brush, to what true arrogance is, and having a good laugh.
Fear (and hope) are not part of atheist thinking, at least as far of hell and heaven is concerned. Atheists do fear ignorance, absolutes, terrorist, blind faith and fascism.
I disagree with social services should be privatized. People who are too young, old, poor, unemployed because of no jobs being available, disabled, etc., need dependable support and a hand up, not a hand out. Government support spreads the cost out to all citizens and makes for a better society. Private support may not provide the stability of consistency; and it may depend on the physical, mental, emotional attractiveness of the receiver of help. A person in need, by definition, requires dependable and consistent support.
I agree with freedom of speech, and that includes speaking out against an idea, not to stop the speech, but to stand on principle. Truth matters. Smiling and nodding when one disagrees makes no sense to me and implies agreement.
I don't like such words as the F..k words; some others do. So!!! I tend not to use them. I want the freedom to use them if I choose, and that does not make me a bad person, or you either.
