A captive common pheasant, ringneck variant. There is a population of common pheasant near the river here. Although they are technically a non-native and invasive species, they are highly protected by the dept. of game and fish here. They are hunted 3 days per year. The taste of their flesh, in my opinion, is much worse than the native scaled quail.
