We already rely on ourselves by default, whether you're religious or not. The religious just deprave themselves of confidence by giving every last shred of confidence to their imaginary friend.
I however will immediately turn to the people I have around me when the issues are too tough to manage by myself. So no, I don't "believe" in myself, I have confidence that I can handle most of what may happen in life... but for what I can't, I believe in my friends.
I have no issues with him saying this though. Fox news isn't exactly being believed by anyone I consider important or intelligent. If the mentally deficient want to brainwash themselves with Fox's garbage, I have no quarrels with it.
I rather enjoy knowing there are so many people out there who I can easily manipulate and control should I ever feel like it. All I have to do is re-use Fox's catch-phrases... it's not hard.
Well there is a bit of truth to it. Like I rely on myself to get through the rough times instead of a god. Why do people need to lessen themselves when they go through some rough time and make it out on the other side?
