Man, they sure seemed focused on how we make them feel when we ask them basic rational questions.

Yes, the religious will usually be insulted by us asking why they believe, and no we haven't actually insulted them. That's just the way it is. Of course they feel like we're calling them soft-headed... we're asking them for evidence that they cannot provide.
We haven't insulted them, but their inability to respond would certainly feel embarrassing.

Firstly, this show airs on a Sunday morning as part of the BBC's commitment to representing the licence fee payer who may be of a religious tilt. Secondly, this could have been a good discussion, but for the fact that Nicky Campbell won't let either side finish a point. That said, those that are coming from a faith position do result to default arguments instead of actually listening to what is being said to them by the atheists on the "show".
