The Ten Commandments vs. The Bill of Rights

Conservative Christians often claim the Bible, and specifically the Ten Commandments, as the basis for morality. They also claim that what they believe to be God's law is the foundation for the laws of the United States and other western democracies. But is there any truth to this claim? How much of the Ten Commandments do we find expressed in the Bill of Rights? And which of the two documents provides a better framework for a just and moral society?
