A nice, chilly morning @44° with a low of 33° expected tonight. Too chilly for breakfast on the porch. The greenhouse overflows with geraniums, begonias, and other annuals or tender plants. They continue to flourish with bright colors and fragrances.

Deer season starts and gunshots fill the peaceful morning air. The dogs brought home rotting bones and flesh of an elk and rolled in it. Both Dominic & Zeek have had two baths already. Larry carried the bones off to the other side of the property and still, the dogs bring new bones. Someone is poaching.

We'll stay warm... today it's suddenly warmer outside than inside, so we opened windows and terrace door and did some necessary cleaning. Have a nice day, all of you!

Waking up to a chilly, windy, bright Sunday morning. I fired up my basement woodburner for the first time yesterday. Today, also. A cup of coffee with blueberry pancakes warmed my insides.

The days activities include a birthday party for my 10 year old grandson. I understand we're having chili--another "warmer upper".

Stay warm, fellow humanists!

Same here but a lot wetter. Afternoon herb tea while the washing machine works. Shopping done together this morning and just spent an hour cleaning and freezing veg. Now for a book, MaddAddamm part 3 by Margaret Atwood - a must read!

A nice crisp Saturday morning here in Indiana with a cup of coffee to get me going. We're going through a minor drought, and no rain in sight. I had new shingles put on my roof and want to see how well the water runs off--not IN my house!

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Wow, great deal!

Free coffee!! With some library promotion, I was able to drink a cup of extremely delicious coffee with a "long john" donut at the local Flour Mill Bakery. Expensive coffee at $1.90/cup. Donut was 95 cents. The great deal is good for the whole month of Sept., so I'm returning several times! Viva!

My youngest grandson (nearly 4) spent the night here. We're going to see a parade (of mostly tractors) at Rossville's (IN) "Summers End Festival". We'll wander around the vendors' displays and car show, then have Lions Club soft serve ice cream. I hope he loves spending time with his grandfather as much as I love spending time with him. Have a fine day, everyone!
